The second line Operational Risk team owns the framework for managing operational risk at Zopa, and is responsible for setting high-quality standards over the design and documentation of processes, controls and risk assessments. The team is responsible for risk oversight of the first line, training and assurance activity, designed to ensure that defined frameworks and standards are adhered to and that Zopa is managing its operational risk exposure within the bank’s risk appetite. 
 
We are looking for an experienced second line operational risk manager to support the ongoing development of the operational risk framework. Someone comfortable utilising data and analytics to identify actionable insights, trends and themes. They will be partnering with the business to provide effective review, challenge, oversight and assurance of operational risk assessments and decision making by the business.  The role is an exciting opportunity for an analytically minded risk manager motivated by driving change and contributing to delivering responsible growth and a truly customer centric experience.

<li>You'll be working closely with the Head of Operational Risk and senior risk leaders from across the business. </li><li>Providing second line operational risk oversight of first line, ensuring that defined frameworks and standards are adhered to, and that sufficient subject-matter expertise is applied, in ongoing operations and in major change initiatives. </li><li>Conducting second line operational risk assurance work, adding value through the provision of independent testing, challenge and insight. </li><li>Supporting the development of policies and frameworks to manage internal fraud, supplier and business continuity risks across the business. </li><li>Training the first line on the defined frameworks and standards to help build and champion quality and excellence in operational risk management across the business. </li><li>Improving the quality of discussion and debate around risk – ensuring appropriate escalation, a consistently evolving approach to MI and controls and clear expectation setting. </li><li>Supporting the annual ICAAP Pillar 2A assessment for operational risk. </li>

<li>You’ll have proven experience in an operational risk management role within the financial services industry.  </li><li>You’ll have a deep understanding of industry best practice in operational risk, including in respect of the design and documentation of processes and controls, and in clear risk analysis and assessment.  </li><li>You’ll have deep subject matter expertise in at least one sub-type of operational risk (in particular, internal fraud, supplier risk or business continuity).  </li><li>You’ll demonstrate strategic thinking with knowledge of operational risk management frameworks and methodologies. </li><li>You’ll have excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.  </li><li>You’ll have the ability to advise and challenge on the implementation of smart solutions across multi-functional teams.  </li><li>You’ll have an analytical mindset, comfortable utilising data and analytics to identify actionable insights, trends and themes. </li>

We're on a step-change growth trajectory. Alongside our best-in-class POS tech solution we have the scale, trust, and market-leading credit capabilities of one of the UK’s top consumer lenders. We are uniquely positioned in the market with rapid growth and bold ambitions for the next three years where this role will be pivotal in spearheading our growth.

<li>This is a hunter role, in the role you are going to be cold calling or emailing people you have maybe not spoken to before.  </li><li>They will daily be making outbound calls to merchants (these can be retail businesses, Dental or veterinary practices amongst others)  </li><li>Working with a market-leading retail point-of-sale finance solution to corporate and commercial accounts. </li><li>Working alongside the Marketing team to generate leads, with 70% coming from your own insights and the rest through a collaborative approach with the Marketing team </li><li>Dealing a range of roles, Finance Director, Managing Director, IT director and many other roles whilst you look to identify the right person to win. </li><li>The aim is to win new clients that meet the objectives of the business area, that drive good £ Volume and have low bad debt (customers not paying or fraud) </li><li>Working with your peers and manager you will be out regularly meeting new opportunities</li><li>Participating in the development and roadmap of new products that will take Zopa ahead of the competition</li>

<li>As the Senior  Business Development Manager (SBDM), you will report to the Head of Business Development, who is part of the POS commercial leadership team</li><li>With experience as a hunter in previous roles, you will be able to initiate conversations with potential clients you haven't spoken to before, or re-engage with those discussions that have gone cold in the past.</li><li>You will be responsible for generating a minimum of 70% of your own new business leads, which may include existing opportunities in our Salesforce that are currently unassigned.</li><li>Familiarity with CRM platforms, such as Salesforce, is essential, along with an understanding of the importance of timely and accurate data input.</li><li>You should have an awareness of how your role will function within a regulated environment, particularly in the consumer finance product vertical, which includes areas like Consumer Finance, Personal Loans, and Motor Finance.</li><li>Prior experience in the Point of Sale Finance sector, fixed-term loans or revolving credit, is an advantage.</li>

<li>Experience of a regulated environment is a must for this role, however the need to be specifically from an existing provider of a like for like offer is not essential but a nice to have. </li>

The Second Line Financial Crime Risk Team owns the framework for managing all financial crime risk at Zopa and is responsible for advising and challenging the business to ensure the right controls are in place to protect the bank, its customers and wider society from financial crime. The team is responsible for risk oversight of the first line, training and assurance activity, designed to ensure that defined frameworks and standards are adhered to and that Zopa is managing its financial crime risk exposure within the bank’s risk appetite.  

We are seeking an experienced financial crime risk manager to join our small but growing second line team. You’ll report into the Director of Financial crime Risk and will be supporting the ongoing development of the financial crime risk framework and the processes that support it.  

This position requires a dynamic and analytical thinker who enjoys collaborating with a wide range of first line teams including risk, ops and product to provide effective review, challenge, oversight, and assurance of financial crime risk assessments and decision-making by the business. <li>Developing and maintaining Zopa’s AML/CFT and Sanctions policies and standards, ensuring that appropriate measures are in place so that money laundering, terrorist financing and sanction evasion risks are considered in the company's day-to-day operations. </li><li>Carrying out assurance activities – these could be testing key financial crime controls, carrying out MI validation, customer journey reviews, policy reviews or large, thematic reviews into key areas of the financial crime control framework   </li><li>Conducting risk assessments for new and existing products as well as contributing to the annual bank wide risk assessment  </li><li>Reviewing methodology documents and proposals from the 1st line of defence and question these proposals where necessary  </li><li>Drafting and providing ongoing maintenance of robust policies and procedures to reflect regulatory developments and best practices </li><li>Preparing documentation whether it’s for monthly risk committee meetings, policy and standards updates or information for the regulators  </li><li>Ensuring that controls scale with all Zopa’s products by developing effective ongoing review and monitoring processes </li><li>Reviewing and analysing MI from across the suite of controls to identify any areas of concern for further investigation </li><li>Working closely with first line of defence risk team in the development of new controls or improving existing ones across current accounts.</li>

<li>Demonstratable experience in AML/CTF risk management within the financial services sector, preferably within ahigh-growth fintech, digital bank or EMI.  </li><li>Hands-on team player, with experience within a 1st or 2nd line risk function </li><li>In-depth understanding of UK anti-money laundering, countering terrorist financing and sanctions regulations, including the Money Laundering Regulations, the Proceeds of Crime Act and FCA expectations </li><li>Clear communicator with ability to explain complicated concepts in simple terms to a wide audience (both verbally and in writing) and can challenge and influence stakeholders of varying seniority </li><li>Enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, you’re a proactive self-starter and are comfortable with a degree of ambiguity and change  </li><li>You can work autonomously and take ownership - you have project management, organisational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time </li><li>Critical thinking with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to problem-solving </li><li>Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, with the ability to adapt to new challenges </li><li>Data driven - ability to analyse data to draw insightful conclusions to drive identify practical risk mitigations  </li><li>Impeccable report writing skills, with the ability to adapt language and complexity depending on target audience </li><li>High level of integrity, sound judgment and attention to detail  </li>

<li>Experience working with product teams, suppliers or regulators  </li><li>Knowledge of SQL would be a bonus!   </li><li>Exposure to retail current accounts (either personal or business)  </li><li>Financial crime qualification(s) – ICA or similar  </li>

Product Manager - Service Excellence 

At Zopa we are building the best bank for UK consumers and their money. As part of our strategy, we are looking to enhance our operations to deliver better experience to our customers using cutting-edge AI technology to do so. We are building a new team, within our Service Excellence domain, with the aim of delivering a step change in our operational efficiency through employing technology to rapidly increase our customers’ ability to self-serve their queries, as well as enhance the tooling that we provide to our service agents so they can deliver a better service to our customers. At the heart of this strategy is the belief that we can leverage cutting edge automation and AI technology to achieve this. We are investing in a brand-new team to support this agenda. 
 
 
The Role: 
 
As a Product Manager you will be responsible for developing our Agent Tooling strategy and working closely with various stakeholders across the business to create and deliver the product roadmap.  The strategy will deliver a step change in the tooling we provide our operational agents with, to improve the customer experience whilst simultaneously improving agent efficiency. You’ll translate your product roadmaps into meaningful projects that you will be responsible for delivering. You’ll work in cross functional squads including delivery, and Engineering to deliver your roadmap items, releasing value quickly and iteratively, managing risk and identifying any blockers to progress.

<li>Degree in quantitative subject from strong academic university  </li><li>Product Management experience within a similar high growth business to Zopa. Or if limited Product Management experience then experience in a high-performance Consultancy/Banking/Tech business. </li><li>Strong analytical ability, whilst you will have support from dedicated insight analysts you will need to be comfortable analysing data yourself (e.g. grab &amp; manipulate data),you will need to be able to demonstrate how you can apply analytical processes and concepts and ask the right questions to get the required insight.  </li><li>Strong problem-solving abilities, e.g. can demonstrate how you have solved complex problems using a mix of quant and qual insight, balance first principal approaches vs applying heuristic, know when to use top down rather than bottom up 80:20 etc. </li><li>Great stakeholder management and communication skills. Clear written and oral communication is a minimum, needs to demonstrate how to manage multiple stakeholders with multiple (conflicting) views and goals to achieve outcomes. </li><li>Can demonstrate operating experience of operating with ambiguity, making effective decisions with uncertainty and drive own work forwards with autonomy to realise tangible results. </li><li>Ability to develop and own roadmap to drive measurable progress against an open-ended problem statement. </li>

<li>Support the Reward &amp; Analytics Director in delivering a high-quality total reward offering using your reward expertise to execute on an ambitious road map over the next few years. </li><li>Govern our levelling and job structure framework and support with the roll-out of salary ranges and transparency across the Zopa functions including delivering communication and training materials. </li><li>Conduct formal annual benchmarking and informal ad-hoc market surveys to ensure our salary ranges are up to date and representative of the intended Zopa market position. </li><li>Undertake analysis of the compensation market and proactively share insight and recommendations on compensation trends and career architecture. </li><li>Work with the Talent Acquisition team to deliver a streamlined job evaluation process, using internal ranges and external benchmarking data to support decision-making. </li><li>Support the core cyclical reward activities including our bi-annual compensation reviews and regulatory reporting such as Gender Pay Gap. </li><li>Manage the day-to-day administration for our equity schemes including accountability for the options tracker, managing issuances and processing leavers. Working closely with Finance to reconcile the cap table, align on our shareholding position and support with ad-hoc equity-related requests. The Second Line Technology Risk Team owns the framework for managing technology risk at Zopa, and is responsible for advising and challenging the business to ensure the security and resilience of our technology infrastructure, systems, and data assets. The team is responsible for risk oversight of the first line, training and assurance activity, designed to ensure that defined frameworks and standards are adhered to and that Zopa is managing its technology risk exposure within the bank’s risk appetite.

We are looking for a Group Product Manager to lead on our product as we shape and build out the customer experience and features. 
 
As the Group Product Manager on one of our critical customer-facing products, you will be at the forefront of our product strategy and execution. We have a number of products which you could be supporting, including our new current account, our savings product, our mobile app and our payments experience. 
 
This role requires a visionary leader who can drive innovation and ensure our product delivers exceptional value to our users. You will be responsible for setting the strategic direction, overseeing the development process, and ensuring launches to the wider market are successful. Critical to this will be ensuring customers are excited by our product and want to use it over the competition. 
 
Of course, you won't be doing this alone. We are looking for a Director of Commercial to join our Loans and Motor Finance tribe, looking after the product P&Ls and the long term growth agenda. The role will balance the need to manage near term financial outcomes (leveraging our analytics teams to alter pricing/credit policy) with the need to invest for future growth through a series of larger product-based bets. 

We launched our loan proposition nearly 20 years ago, starting as the UK’s first peer to peer lender before turbo charging our growth in 2020 as we transitioned into a bank. Ourmotor finance product is more recent, starting out in 2017 before growing significantly from 2020. We are currently the largest open market loan provider as well as a rising star in the motor finance world. We are always looking to challenge ourselves on how we can continue growing and putting our world class product in the hands of more customers. 

This is a high ownership role with significant visibility. It involves setting the long term direction for our two largest lending products, working with product managers, analysts and our partnerships team to deliver our vision. You will also own the commercial management of both products where you will be working with the lending analytics team to recommend pricing/strategic decisions to the senior management team. You will need to collaborate to get to the right answer, drawing on our best-in-class analytics customer insights and industry context to make sure the roadmap is always the best that it can be. 
Despite having a great team around you, you will need to be happy and able to get your hands dirty as there are always opportunities that we could be looking at. This may involve building simple financial forecasts, validating commercial viability, facilitating/taking part in ideation sessions, collaborating with the wider business in improving the conduct or operational risk of the product or supporting the launch of a large new project. 

You will be influential insetting the long-term direction for ~5 tech teams (30-40 engineers), multiple analytical teams (~10 analysts) and work closely with the product management team to deliver the change you need to grow our products. You will need to be able to inspire these teams to deliver at their very best despite. This will require diverse leadership skills that can empathise with a variety of viewpoints and draw the best out of the individuals.

We are on a mission to level-up the mobile app and we’re looking for someone to bring deep expertise in native Android development (with Kotlin).​

You will join our Mobile Platform team which looks after tech underpinning the app itself: from the app’s architecture, shared capabilities and libraries and experiences, as well as the build and analytics infrastructure. The team plays an important role as thought leaders in the broader mobile community at Zopa, and generally is responsible for moving our tech forward in that space.​

The company has the vision to become Britain’s best bank and have just launched the Zopa account which is a high touch, mass-market product. The app is our most important touch point with the customer and it needs to be performant and delightful. We therefore want to invest in the tech of the app.​

The app is today built using React Native but we have found ourselves increasingly leveraging native capabilities (Swift and Kotlin). We are looking to further build out our skills in native development and use those to significantly overhaul the app experience.​

As a Customer Service Specialist, you are customer-centric and a strong team player, with a collaborative approach that ensures the customer is always at the heart of everything you do. You can identify opportunities to improve the service we offer and make decisions aimed at creating an exceptional customer experience every time. Delivering first-call resolution by working closely with other areas and taking ownership of each customer interaction is essential to this role.

You will work 5 days out of 7, totalling 37.5 hours per week. The working pattern will consist of 7.5 hour shifts between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday, and you will work one weekend a month, 9 am – 5:30 pm.

This is a hybrid role. The team works in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

The Team

At Zopa, our teams are small, agile and cross-functional so you can expect to interact with stakeholders and key business users daily. We are big believers in a lean philosophy and flexibility in implementation, while aiming to achieve stack consistency and alignment across the board. As a Senior Software Engineer you will be experienced solving complex engineering problems, understand the full SDLC and operate, not just create, production environments. Our Senior Software Engineers understand the trade-offs between risk, quality, speed as well as short-term vs long-term value, all the whilst keeping focused on customer needs. Above all, we want team players focused on improving the organisation and the people around them. 
 
Some of the tech stack you will be working with includes: Java, Kafka, Kotlin, React, React Native, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, AWS Aurora Postgres, just to name a few. But don't worry, you don't need to know it all.

<li>You'll report into the Senior Manager - Lending and work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to ensure Zopa operates within risk appetite, through the application of commensurate mitigating controls. </li><li>Be able to identify areas of risk and have a strong knowledge of operational risks and controls. </li><li>Lead in defining solutions in response to risks which are i) smart and proportionate, iii) sustainable (e.g. Automated controls over manual interventions) and iv) considered (i.e. not just plugging the gap but thinking more holistically about the issue and what we need, to improve the risk environment) </li><li>Be able to manage interdependencies in order to support in the delivery of agreed solutions, change initiatives in a timely and high-quality way. </li><li>Ensure that MI and reporting is delivered in a timely manner, enabling accountable individuals to make informed, risk-based decisions.    </li>

<li>You'll be an experienced risk professional with a strong understanding of retail banking environment and a passion for supporting teams to deliver better customer outcomes. </li><li>Proven track record of experience of managing operational risk (ideally in the first line) in a consultancy, fintech or specifically within the financial services sector.  </li><li>Good awareness of the regulatory framework in which Zopa operates and driven to self-educate and learn about the evolving open banking regulatory landscape. </li><li>You'll be able to lead stakeholders to identify areas of risk, support in the delivery of change across the business and look for ways to improve our existing risk-based practices.  </li><li>You should be technical, outcome orientated, and be able to apply the risk framework to propose optimal outcomes for customers and the bank.  </li><li>A strong communicator who can articulate issues clearly, flagging trade-offs and solutions in order to gain buy in to your proposals. </li><li>Passionate about improving the risk environment and general ways of working across the teams you support. </li><li>Act as a source of knowledge and point of contact for business colleagues in your area such as second line risk and first line counterparts. </li><li>Guide first line teams in completing comprehensive risk assessments and promoting a risk-aware culture across the business.  </li>

The Team

At Zopa, our teams are small, agile and cross-functional so you can expect to interact with stakeholders and key business users daily. We are big believers in a lean philosophy and flexibility in implementation, while aiming to achieve stack consistency and alignment across the board. As a Software Engineer you will be experienced solving complex engineering problems, understand the full SDLC and operate, not just create, production environments. Our Software Engineers understand the trade-offs between risk, quality, speed as well as short-term vs long-term value, all the whilst keeping focused on customer needs. Above all, we want team players focused on improving the organisation and the people around them. 
 
Some of the tech stack you will be working with includes: Java, Kafka, Kotlin, React, React Native, Kubernetes, Docker, Jenkins, RabbitMQ, AWS Aurora Postgres, just to name a few. But don't worry, you don't need to know it all.

We like to strike a balance between flexibility whilst also appreciating in-person collaboration, so we are looking for people that can commit to two working days per week in our London Bridge office.

The role:
 
At Zopa, our Software Engineering Managers play a key role in the success of our business and the effectiveness of our Engineers. They are passionate about developing people and nurturing them as engineers to build great things and progress their own personal development. You will manage a team of engineers building the platforms and systems that power compelling products for our customers. 

As a manager, you will be responsible for ensuring your team are engaged and performing as effectively as possible. To do this you will collaborate with Product and other stakeholders as part of strategic planning; as well as have a good heads-up view of the challenges coming and be responsible for capacity planning, performance management and community building to maximize our ability to meet them. You will drive quality across all stages of the SDLC to ensure quality is central to building software and partner with Delivery to champion our Agile ways of working.

Excitingly, we are growing across several product-engineering tribes at Zopa which means we need Engineering Managers across multiple teams. You could be joining our Current Account, Mobile Engineering, Product Enablement or Operation Efficiency teams to take Zopa products and Engineering to the next level. As we move through the interview process we will ensure you meet a range of Zopians from different teams and assess which team you would have the most impact in. 

Regardless of team, our Engineering Managers work in a hybrid manner so this role will be coming into our London Bridge office 2 days a week.
