We're on a step-change growth trajectory. Alongside our best-in-class POS tech solution we have the scale, trust, and market-leading credit capabilities of one of the UK’s top consumer lenders. We are uniquely positioned in the market with rapid growth and bold ambitions for the next three years where this role will be pivotal in spearheading our growth.

The Head of New Business will run the business development function as well as being an integral part of the Commercial leadership team.  It is a critical role with a with a wide-ranging remit to improve the new business function in order to grow the revenue and profitability of the business. The role requires strategic and operational leadership, superb people skills, drive, ambition, great communication skills as well as understanding of operating in a regulated environment. 

Please note this role will require twice weekly travel to our Newcastle-Under-Lyme office.

As part of Zopa’s exciting growth journey we are looking for a Head of 1st Line Compliance Advisory to join us. Reporting to our Senior Director of 1st Line Risk & Compliance, you’lllead a function that works across our product and Operations teams to ensure our products and services deliver good customer outcomes and operate in line with internal polices and external rules, requirements and regulations.   
 
Your time will be split supporting our product teams to launch new products and features alongside overseeing ongoing operation of existing products.

The 1st Line of Defence (1LOD) Risk Function are responsible for managing risks across the organisation, working closely with cross-business stakeholders and adopting the bank’s risk framework to embed effective and efficient risk management into everything we do. 
 
We are looking for a Risk Manager to partner with our Lending Product areas (these range from POS, Credit Cards, UPL’s to Auto) to identify, assess and manage operational risks. <li>You'll report into the Senior Manager - Lending and work closely with stakeholders across the three lines of defence to ensure Zopa operates within risk appetite, through the application of commensurate mitigating controls. </li><li>Be able to identify areas of risk and have a strong knowledge of operational risks and controls. </li><li>Lead in defining solutions in response to risks which are i) smart and proportionate, iii) sustainable (e.g. Automated controls over manual interventions) and iv) considered (i.e. not just plugging the gap but thinking more holistically about the issue and what we need, to improve the risk environment) </li><li>Be able to manage interdependencies in order to support in the delivery of agreed solutions, change initiatives in a timely and high-quality way. </li><li>Ensure that MI and reporting is delivered in a timely manner, enabling accountable individuals to make informed, risk-based decisions.    </li>

<li>You'll be an experienced risk professional with a strong understanding of retail banking environment and a passion for supporting teams to deliver better customer outcomes. </li><li>Proven track record of experience of managing operational risk (ideally in the first line) in a consultancy, fintech or specifically within the financial services sector.  </li><li>Good awareness of the regulatory framework in which Zopa operates and driven to self-educate and learn about the evolving open banking regulatory landscape. </li><li>You'll be able to lead stakeholders to identify areas of risk, support in the delivery of change across the business and look for ways to improve our existing risk-based practices.  </li><li>You should be technical, outcome orientated, and be able to apply the risk framework to propose optimal outcomes for customers and the bank.  </li><li>A strong communicator who can articulate issues clearly, flagging trade-offs and solutions in order to gain buy in to your proposals. </li><li>Passionate about improving the risk environment and general ways of working across the teams you support. </li><li>Act as a source of knowledge and point of contact for business colleagues in your area such as second line risk and first line counterparts. </li><li>Guide first line teams in completing comprehensive risk assessments and promoting a risk-aware culture across the business.  </li>

The Role
This role sits within our Data Governance team which is currently made up of the Head of Data Governance and the Data Privacy Manager, of which you will report directly into the Data Privacy Manager. You'll be primarily focused on supporting the Data Privacy Manager, however, the intention is that you will also be able to support the Head of Data Governance for the equivalent of 1 day per week.
 
The team are the first point of contact across the business for data protection queries and data management/governance related questions. The team has recently expanded due to implementation of a data governance system and governance changes across the business which requires data protection review, risk rating and sign off on all changes involving the use of personal data. This is in addition to business-as-usual activity such as due diligence for new and existing suppliers, assisting in data protection matters that arise in customer services and adhering to data protection requirements such as DPIA review and maintenance, RoPA guidance and maintenance and training of data protection responsibilities across the business.

<li>CIPP in Privacy or equivalent, or experience of working with and implementing the UK Data Protection Act 2018</li><li>Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to influence others</li><li>Communicating and collaborating with stakeholders of all levels of seniority</li><li>A good focus on active listening and understand the importance of communication skills</li><li>Prioritisation and task management skills</li><li>An ability to work independently and to identify issues and present options for remediation whenever possible</li>

The Role
Already a long-established player in the fintech sector, Zopa has also recently launched an innovative  new range of banking products including savings products and credit cards. If you’re the right candidate, you can play an important role in building the bank of the future using some of today’s most cutting-edge technologies. You’ll be working in a small, agile team with plenty of opportunities to learn from and exchange knowledge with your colleagues.

The team this role falls within (Developer Experience) help add value to the wider engineering group by either using commercial or open source tooling, or building their own set of tooling that enables the engineering team to ship code faster and with higher quality.

As a Customer Service Specialist, you are customer-centric and a strong team player, with a collaborative approach that ensures the customer is always at the heart of everything you do. You can identify opportunities to improve the service we offer and make decisions aimed at creating an exceptional customer experience every time. Delivering first-call resolution by working closely with other areas and taking ownership of each customer interaction is essential to this role.

You will work 5 days out of 7, totalling 37.5 hours per week. The working pattern will consist of 7.5 hour shifts between 8 am and 8 pm, Monday to Friday, and you will work one weekend a month, 9 am – 5:30 pm.

This is a hybrid role. The team works in the office on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

We are launching a Current Account and looking for a Senior Product Manager to help us to shape and build out the customer experience and features as it grows. 
 
We want to transform the Current Accounts space as we have already done with loans, savings, credit cards and car finance, tying together our Zopa ecosystem, with big ambitions targeting over 1m+ active customers in 3 years' time. This role will be crucial to helping us get there so there's big opportunity for some serious career defining impact. 
 
The Current Account tribe is split over multiple squads, however at the centre of the product is the Current Account Experiences team which this Senior Product Manager will lead. 
 
This is a highly autonomous and high ownership role, strategising how we design and build on our core CA proposition and main customer experiences of Current Accounts (think how you apply for an account, view your main dashboard, and make transfers). Critical to this will be ensuring customers are excited by our product and want to use it over the competition.

As a Process Manager at Zopa Bank, you will play a crucial role in understanding, managing and improving the processes that relate to Collections, Recoveries, Debt Sale, Deceased and Vulnerable Customers.
